New York City as well as the buildings we service - their plumbing and
heating systems, quirks and recurring problems, and potential trouble
spots. We also know what changes are being made to the City ordinances
and whether they will affect a particular building. We can do everything
from offering a complete preventative maintenance program to fixing
leaks in pipes.

WHAT TO DO IN A WATER EMERGENCY
1. Know where your water
shut-off valve is located. They are usually located under the fixture
or in the basement by the foundation.
In the event of a water leak
emergency, the first thing you should do, of course, is turn off the
water. Turn the valve clockwise until it stops. Do not force it when
it stops. If you have water coming in from the street through your foundation
wall you either have a broken water or sewer main or the City main is
broken.
2. If the City main is leaking,
call the Department of Environmental Protection directly at 718.DEP
HELP.
3. Call ABR PLUMBING if your
main is leaking - and we can send a crew to excavate the street to shut
off the water and make the repair.
WHAT TO DO IN A SEWER EMERGENCY
1. If your sewer is backed
up, the first thing you must remember to do is not to use any water.
Keep in mind, any water you or anybody else in the building uses will
only add to the amount of water in the basement.
2. If you have an individual
fixture that backs up, you must once again turn off the water to it
and not run more water through it.
3. Call ABR PLUMBING
